Tommy , your hopes may be shattered one day by alzheimer disease , ending up
thinking this was your all time favorite movie and watching it over and over
again forgetting you just watched it .

There are some movies that you just don't want to watch, for whatever reason
(in this case most of the songs), and I have never seen and hopefully will
never see TSOM.

This guy's book should inspire all movie lovers to write a detailed history of
EVERY movie.

We could start a blog about the first time we saw THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

I’ll start.

I was a senior in high school. I drove to Houston to see the picture in Todd
AO at the Alabama Theater on Westheimer in Houston. Very good projection and
sound at an Interstate Theater. Interstate was the prestige exhibitor in Texas
at that time. The film played for at least a year there. That theater is now a
Trader Joes. In the intervening year is has been a disco and a book store, I
believe.

When you KNOW the notes to sing…..

No, Richard, I don’t think so. Might have been shown here and there as a
special. But after a year or so, maybe a little longer, it was over. First
Fox re-release in 1973, I believe.

Correct me if I’m wrong.
