Walter,

The nightmare one sheet of all time.

I¹d be cautious of rolled examples in quantity. Even 20-odd years ago the
rolled one sheet was really hard to come by, but when it v. occasionally did
surface they were always genuine (the safe banker). They had ŒPrinted in
U.S.A.¹ bottom left, nothing bottom centre and ŒNSS 820007¹ bottom right.
The only folded examples I¹ve personally seen and felt to be genuine also
have those same details, but there are other variants I¹ve never seen in
person.

Around 2000, phonies of the genuine rolled one sheet suddenly started to
appear regularly. Whoever made them had managed to avoid the black-to-brown
colour shift, but in doing so had made the title red too rich and contrasty.
If you knew the genuine ones first hand they were an instant spot, but were
otherwise pretty well done.

This was at a time when the almost certainly phoney folded one sheet had
been around for quite a while and was starting to be challenged: this
measures 27²x41², has ŒBlade Runner¹ and Œ820007¹ bottom right, super-
blurry GAU logo, ŒLitho in USA¹ and ŒProperty of National Screen etc¹
details bottom centre, and nothing bottom left. On these posters the true
black colours have shifted in the reproduction to dark browns (as commonly
happens), with a weaker ŒBlade Runner¹ title red colour. But, most
dammingly, the faint ghost of the original/source printing¹s ŒNSS 820007¹
and ŒPrinted in U.S.A.¹ still just visible in the corners on very close
inspection. We were fortunate enough a few years ago to be able do a totally
unprompted comparison test between two folded BR one sheets with one of the
film¹s original producers at Warners and he instantly identified this one as
a fake. Difficult to believe that any variants that have this Œghost
printing¹ could be genuine without pretty improbable explanations.

So genuine rolled one sheets obviously do exist and more may well have
surfaced since then. But it appeared to v.scarce two decades ago with a
subsequent flood of phonies over many years, so.....

Now even more variations have been catalogued to scratch our heads over, the
whole title needs a Voigt-Kampff test
