This significant anniversary prompted me to look through some of my old PC
backups, and lo and behold I found my original MOPO subscription request for my
old email address, which was March 1998. Longer ago than I thought, although I
ducked out for a while inbetween due to the demands of my job at that time. For
many years I was a serial lurker, partly because I was overawed by the often
"lively" discussions between David K, Bruce, Freeman and Claude, and partly
because by the time I had downloaded all the emails on my painfully slow
dial-up connection (remember those?) when I got home at night, the day was
over. Interestingly, one of the first messages I bothered to keep (from '99)
was from Philipp (Kainbacher) warning about a poster scam in Italy, so thanks
Philipp!!
Greg, I don't think the person you met in London was Adrian as Tom was
suggesting, but far less impressively, me. I don't think you'd forget Adrian. A
Viking like Tom says. I'm a mere 6 feet tall, but he easily towered over me
with his distinctive flame red hair and beard. He rode a Harley, and I have a
decrepit old Ford Focus. Feels strange that Adrian is no longer with us, as I
used to bump into him regularly, and I bought some of my first posters from
him. Anyway, it was a real pleasure to meet Greg with his merry band of musical
vagabonds The Former Members in London (Bull's Head, Barnes I think). Before I
got into film posters, my first love was my electric guitar, so it was
fantastic to see a fellow MOPOer and certified rock god wielding his axe like
it should be done.
You would've thought by now I'd have learned to reply to MOPO messages
properly, but I think I messed up when I tried to send thanks to Scott a couple
of days ago, so I'll try again! A big Thank You to Scott for keeping the MOPO
list going in such a generous and unassuming way. It may be old technology, but
it's outlasted many another forum.

I've been here since the mid-90s and noticed cycles; there were times when
serious discussions about poster lore taught me much i didn't know. I've met
people I consider friends: Tom Martin, Rich Halegua, Bruce Hershenson (i miss
your presence and your wealth of knowledge), the cuddly curmudgeon, Claude
Litton, a nice man with a razor-sharp wit (Claude: still got that ROBOT MONSTER
insert  you'd hinted you might sell back to me?), Kirby McDaniel,;....a
wonderful fellow I met in London whose name, embarassingly, escapes me) who
specialized in Bond and Hitchcock material, the wonderful Nathalie
Yafet...lawzy, it goes on & on. I've been here through the epic  battles, the
Eugene Hughes debacle (I eventually got all my stuff back.) I've watched people
come and go, lost pals to the Reaper (bye, Susan Olson)....but let us raise a
glass of fine Amontillado to Scott Burns whose patience and love for the hobby
remain apparent after a quarter of a century (almost coinciding with my wedding
anniversary.)All together:"We accept you! One of us! We accept you! One of
