Some coincidental trivia:

Olivia Newton-John passed away on the 42nd anniversary of the
original US release of “Xanadu,” August 8, 1980.

No question, “Grease” is the far better movie.

But as the years have gone by, the trainwreck that is “Xanadu”
has developed quite the fan base. The big production number at the
end of “Xanadu” is still fun to watch (ELO after all!), even if
the rest of the movie may drag, and drag, and drag. 😊 Every now
and then I pull it up on YouTube and it always cheers me up.

For some unexplainable cosmic reason, many bad (at time of release)
movies get better, or at least much more fun to watch (and develop a
following) as they age. “Can’t Stop the Music” with the
Village People, Caitlan (Bruce) Jenner, Valerie Perrine & Steve
Guttenberg definitely falls into that category, as does “Moment by
Moment” with John Travolta and Lily Tomlin (a really unbelievable
story line and a really bad script!) Sometimes a bad—but fun—
movie hits the spot.

Any other nominations for the Bad/But Good category?

Agree. She was indeed memorable in those movies although Grease is
much better than Xanadu.

The sad exits continue…. Olivia Newton-John has died at age 73.
Not many film credits, but she was memorable as Sandy in
“Grease” (1978) with John Travolta and as Kira in “Xanadu”
(1980) which featured Gene Kelly’s final big screen appearance.
