Thanks Allen! I pay the employees a lot, and I give them a significant percentage of the profits at the end of each year on top of that. But (to me) just as important as that, I every day show them in words how important they are to the business and to me. The top six people are almost as important to the business as I am, and is the "secret" to how well we do (for ourselves, and for our consignors, and buyers). There are eight reasons for this: 1 We far and away charge the lowest rates at every price level of any major auction and we prove it here: https://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=consign_major#absoluteproof 2 We get higher prices overall than any other auction at every price level, when you compare "apples to apples and oranges to oranges" (even if you accept the many "false results" other auctions often report). 3 We do a better job of auctioning than any major auction (how buyers AND consignors are treated, before, during, and after every transaction). 4 We have very loyal bidders (70,000+ to date) and consignors (3,365 to date), many of whom we have dealt with for five or ten or more years, quite a few for nearly our entire 35 year history! 5 eBay continues to implode. It has no quality control over their sellers, so the good auctioneers get lumped in with the many bad ones, and their business continue to decline. Most former regular eBay bidders are now mostly only bidding with us, and most former eBay sellers are now mostly only selling through us! 6 Other major auctions regularly alienate their consignors AND their bidders, due to many shady auction practices, including massive deceptive "25%, $29 minimum buyers premiums" (that deceive sellers) and over-grading what they auction, and/or enhancing images and "missing" restoration or defects that their items have. 7 We have the best employees of any major movie poster auction, 19 in all. Over the years we have continually refined what we do, and a high percentage of our best employees have been here between ten and twenty years each! 8 We DON'T have fancy offices, showrooms, or exhibit space, or printed catalogs! We put all the savings from not having those things into having NO buyers premiums, charging actual shipping cost and having 16 weeks of Pay and Hold, and many other ways that let our bidders and our consignors get a better deal than at any other auction! What will the future hold? We don't know, so you will just have to come back here a year from now and find out!
