Michael Schlesinger, former Hollywood studio exec at MGM, Paramount and Sony and truly the ultimate classic movie fan, passed away yesterday in Los Angeles at the age of 74. He was a regular at the Columbus Cinevent where I got to meet him. He also assisted with LA's Cinecon. Michael provided commentaries for a number of DVD releases including "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World" (which was his favorite movie) "One, Two Three" and the 1974 version of "The Front Page." He also loved "Sh! The Octopus" (1937) which features one of the weirdest transformation scenes ever put on film. See it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m3Rea0H_p8
