Scott - This is indeed sad news and it is a great loss to the classic film community. He was also great when introducing movies at the TCM Festival.
Here is what I wrote about Michael on Nitrateville. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Michael on 2 projects. The Biffle and Shooster short IMITATION OF WIFE and Rock and Doris (try to) Write a Movie. I was so grateful to be a part of his stock company. Michael afforded me the opportunity to slip into the past and live out my fondest dreams of being an actor in a bygone era. In all the things I've had a chance to perform in one of the best days of my career was on Rock and Doris. I don't know where he got the idea that I could play Frank "Yeessss" Nelson but Michael double cast me and that was one of the roles. I found Michael to always be friendly, funny and genuine. I will miss his hilarious answers to stupid questions on Quora, his comments on Trailers from Hell and a lunch or two at the Magic Castle. Most of all I'll miss knowing that Michael is in this world. He certainly made it a better place for me. I hope I can pay it forward for other actors. Michael has "kicked the bucket". He went sailing right out there! I hope you have finally found your own big W! Love you Michael - Glenn On Fri, Jan 10, 2025 at 3:47 PM Scott Burns <[email protected]> wrote: > Michael Schlesinger, former Hollywood studio exec at MGM, Paramount and > Sony and truly the ultimate classic movie fan, passed away yesterday in Los > Angeles at the age of 74.
