I've made quite the Asian spectacle of myself for nearly 30 years on MoPo. I
still do but in a more geriatric / slothful way. (Not a charter member but
pretty close.) It was Mahtab Moayeri and Herb Ross who got me to join, much to
their collective chagrin, given events that would happen soon after. The names
come and go, but Scott Burns has been the fixture, the unmovable object, the
obelisk in the center square - who has persevered through it all. While
there's no way to find out, it would be curious to know how many members are 40
or younger. (If they are, it depresses me to think they were ten years old
when MoPo started.) My impression is the group is still dominated by sellers
who somehow made a living out of our hobby - (congrats!) - but even the rest of
us who aren't - have grown old with them together. Bury hatchets while you can
and don't let your last words nor thoughts be angry ones. Life is brief.
Thanks, MoPo!

I think Todd has said it best. It really has been helpful to me as well, and
we should not take it for granted.

Although I've never publicly said it, MoPo has been an integral and invaluable
resource for both collectors and dealers, including myself.
I'm even pretty sure many, again including myself, might even take MoPo for
granted from time to time, that it will always be here for us to read or take
part in. That is not a good thing as nothing is forever and we should never
take it for granted, because once it's gone, I'm positive we will then realize
how much we miss it.

Whether it's a small or large part of our lives, if it wasn't for Scott, we
wouldn't have it at all. And that is a testament to Scott.

An incredible thanks to Scott for starting MoPo and for keeping it alive all
these 30 years and hopefully for many, many more.

Thank you, Scott!!

Best,
Todd

Fellow MoPo’ers:

We made it to 30!

MoPo made its debut on American University’s listserv on February 24, 1995. As
always, here’s a salute to the original 11 MoPo’ers who were here on that first
day: Mahtab Moayeri, Michael Danese, Rob Ellis, Donna Tschetter, Goh Kai Shen,
Evan Zweifel, George Nichol, Jeff Static (using AOL name Static555), Cindy
Nemeth-Johannes, Adam Ehrlich, and myself. Michael, Rob and Evan are still
subscribed.

Wow. It’s hard to believe 30 years have passed. Surviving that long on the
internet is quite the accomplishment.

Thanks to you all for keeping this little listserv group alive for so many
years. (Take that Facebook!)
