Only on television. Cougar's are not fond of
water. I believe all cats are not fond of water,
except for the jaguar. Jaguars will swim in water for
play. Cougar's will hesitate for kills, too. Cats
are this way. As cats mature they become more precise
and timely, waiting for what, for them, would be the
right moment.
Hmmmm, this has me thinking. Hesitation is also
patience. Waiting for the right moment which would
depend on timing and precision.
I've only seen two cougars in my life while I've
been walking in the woods. Once at a place called
Ohiopyle (Ron and Arlo may know of the place). Second
time was in Elk County while I was walking where elk
live (which east of the Mississippi River, I believe
this is one of two places where elk exist. Both
times, the cougars were walking up hill passed me
perpendicular. The Ohiopyle one was to my back (I
sense a presence to my back), and I turned and saw the
cougar. An ex-girlfriend of mine picked up rocks and
tried to throw them at the cougar. I stopped her and
said, "The cougar is leaving us in peace, let us leave
the cougar in peace." The second cougar was further
away (the first was less than 15 yards away), and a
friend and I were fishing. I walked up over an
embankment and saw the cougar walking up the hill near
a bunch of boulders. I was stunned and tried to get
my friend to come up quickly and see the cougar, but
by the time he made it up the embankment, we turned
our heads and the cougar was gone.
Sorry if you thought I saw a cougar hesitate.
When I see hesitation, what I'm seeing is the cougar
(on TV) get a paw wet, and shake the paw, trying to
wait for a moment to jump, then eventually, after
standing for some time, the cougar jumps. Also, I've
seen (on TV) cougars hiding waiting to kill a prey,
but then back up and wait. Thus, hesitation, but then
again this is not the problematic hesitation or is it?
When we hesitate, don't we have a reason why, even if
it is fear or distance (something is not close enough
to get so we wait patiently as to not waste energy).
I'm glad to see you noticed the cougar was me. I
hesitate due to doubts and that I would say is
problematic, or maybe I'm thinking that's problematic,
for those doubts might be barriers influenced by
patience. I'm waiting for the right moments, but then
again it could be doubts bringing me down and thus,
tiring me, depressing me into not doing anything about
it (whatever it may be). Then eventually I go and do
it, and find out it was necessary even if it was to
dispel doubts that seemingly were holding me back
(hesitation).
Does this me not seeing a cougar throw a wrench
into what you were onto?
second snow of this cold season and it is laying all
over the place, definitely more than a dusting,
SA
