Interesting Marsha, The phrase does get bandied around in late 20th century economics / management circles, but of course it comes from Marx and Schumpeter, very much part of social policy ... against capitalism .... much bigger than just economics .... and Nietzsche's "footfall" is behind much of this too.
I use it for every thing from Supernovae to the Dinosaurs' Meteoric manifest destiny ...
