are dumber than him." I mostly object to theologies and political view that
elevate ignorance to a virtue.

The irony is that the same people who seek hierarchies of superiority in every
other facet of life, try to create a flat "no one is dumber or smarter than
anyone else" when it comes to understanding complex fields like philosophy and
physics. And frankly, I don't find the discrepancy among the population to be
one of innate ability, as to a sad combination of the failure to educate
compounded by, as you eloquently call it, the cultural impetus of the day that
elevates ignorance to a virtue.

On a humourous (the "u" is for the Brits among us) note, lest we forget how
"informed" many in the general population are, check out this clip from the
