Meliorism, if you could help explain this better
from quotes that you know or something it would help.
As to how meliorism fits in with scapulimancy,
meliorism is for the better that patterns form,
correct? Thus, on the biological level you mentioned
'grew' as a way patterns form. Scapulimancy is the
reading of scapulas and is a work of divination. I'm
reading a book called "Keepers of the Game" by Calvin
Martin where this reading is an affirmation of current
understanding. Thus, patterns form on the scapula,
but these patterns form 'something' that the static
patterns on all levels have a place, an opening to
come together. The scapula becomes an opening, a
niche if you will, where static patterns will shoot
into amidst the seemingly wild patterns on the scapula
and the scapula is read. It's similar to a mythology
where the reader fills in the blanks according to the
readers current living. The mythology or scapula
provides enough minimum information to help guide the
reader into a generalized direction, and the readers
input/static patterns dart into this generalized
direction where the static patterns come alive and
must move and dart with these seemingly abstract
patterns and the blanks are to be filled in.
I guess what I'm pointing out is a process of
patterns forming in scapula reading.
As to neural coding, I'm pointing out the same
process, the process of patterns forming. In neural
coding the process is the link between mind-body,
whereas the cold, mechanical biological brain,
according to the article, can be connected with
thoughts. What is this neural coding that links the
two? Horgan believes a link will be found in a
theory, I believe, that will be evidenced. At one
point in time, Horgan thought, thought would never be
seen in the biological brain, but he changed his mind
about this.
In both cases, I'm not pointing out the details,
as much as I'm pointing out a process of forming
static patterns is occuring, and how dynamic gets to
static is what I was introducing. How this fits in
with meliorism? I would say this principle seems to
be a bridge or some kind of glimmering structure that
has one foot in dynamic and the other foot in static.
If you could elaborate on meliorism some more, then I
believe the process of forming static patterns might
emerge more.
just a thought.
thanks.
