yes - I realize that - This is a rule for what kind of text you actually post - not what the setting is on your e-mail options is. The rule means - don't post graphics or other html objects embedded in the body of the e-mail. We all like having links work when we put them in the body of a message so that we can click on them - they wouldn't do this if the outgoing e-mail options were set to plain text. The reason I suggested to dmb to 'graduate up to it' was to take the computer back down to the most basic settings he can - in order to isolate the problem. MS Word is going to let you format the body of the text as wide as his margins are set for the document.
