SA: Ron, it's still settling, but I feel sooo
wonderful! It probably will take some time to come
down. The girls on my unit actually said they would
miss me, thankfully. For when staff leave you can
tell if the residents really liked that staff or not.
If they didn't, then on that staff's last shift the
residents will terrorize the staff the whole shift.
They were fine with me. We laughed, and the night
went quite normal just as I'd hoped. No big
good-bye's, except for with my assistant, but we
parted as quickly as possible at the end of the shift.
I'll talk more about that in a bit.
Last night when I left, and still at moments now,
I feel like crying due to the happiness. I do miss
the staff. I stuck around last night taking with some
staff especially the my assistant. Her and I have
been through so much stuff. She was around with me
working on the unit longer than anybody else. She
started working with me when events were tough on our
unit, and it created a bond that I can imagine it must
be something kin to war buddies. Sure a more toned
down version, but the bond is something in that
direction. I feel empathy for all the staff I worked
with. I hope they don't get hurt. That's what I was
telling everybody I saw last night. I was saying to
them to take care and if events get even worse to
really take care of themselves, don't get hurt. I
walked in yesterday, and found out the cops did go up
to the administration building to talk with those in
charge about the seriousness of what's been happening
on the units. Another resident, who hasn't hit
anybody, did punch another staff yesterday during the
day. This resident is 18, 18... what a dumby, I mean,
she was about to leave. They don't hold residents
longer than 18, even though they could til their 21,
so, people were trying to find a place for her to go.
She doesn't have a family, so they were looking for an
independent living problem or something. Then she
goes and punches this staff. The staff is pressing
charges. She'll get charged as an adult. So that's a
total of 4 staff charging 3 different residents. One
of those three residents has 9 counts against her.
One count/charge is attempted murder. She really
tried to kill this almost 50 year-old frail, very
compassionate, very nice, would go out of her way much
more than anybody else to help these girls - woman.
Everybody was shocked. My assist is one of the 4
charging a resident. She was punched in the throat.
She was too close to a resident who was literally
beating the crap out of this staff. This resident is
a very big female, and the staff was getting this sh-t
kicked out of her - that's how the staff that was
getting beat up put it. Then the assistant was
talking to the resident, asking the males to jump in,
and the resident turned and punched her in the throat.
I'm sooo happy... tears of joy!!!!!
