Ok, it is even worse form to rely to a reply to yourself but I was wrong
Lalla Ward did play Romana but not in the Key to Time series, that Romana
was played by the only slightly less hot Mary Tamm. As a Time Lord Romana
regenerated in the next season as Lalla Ward.

I figured I should fess up before Ian caught the mistake...

It is bad form to reply to yourself but I just picked up an interesting bit
a trivia. Dawkins is married to Lalla Ward, who played Romana, Tom Baker's
companion and fellow Time Lord (Lady?) in the Dr. Who series. She is totally
hot. I think not only was Baker the best Dr., the Keys to Time segments
where Romana was his companion were the very best of the long running show.

Dawkins was introduced to Ward by Douglas Adams who worked on the Dr. Who
series and wrote a couple of the episode she starred. "The God Delusion" is
dedicated to Adams.

If we were to start a list of works that are essential for anyone who wants
to understand the MoQ, I would rank the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
second only to the Tao te Ching.

Turns out the reference actually can be found in the introduction to "The
God Delusion":

"The dictionary supplied with Microsoft Word defines a delusion as 'a
persistent false belief held in the face of strong contradictory evidence,
especially as a symptom of psychiatric disorder'. The first part captures
religious faith perfectly. As to whether it is a symptom of a psychiatric
disorder, I am inclined to follow Robert M. Pirsig, author of Zen and the
Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, when he said, 'When one person suffers from a
delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it
is called Religion."

I have not read the book but looking it over and scanning the index I would
definitely recommend it to Platt and Ham. It may not cure their delusions
but as least they would have a better idea of why someone might think they
are deluded. I will happily loan them an electronic copy, just ask.

Hi all,

Something I'm not sure has been noted before,

http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/228030

Extract:

"He is sympathetic to an observation by American author and
philosopher Robert Pirsig that "when one person suffers from a
delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a
delusion it is called religion." ".

Cheers,

David.
