Hi Craig, I did not give an example of altruism; the book does talk about the apparent taking of the altruism out of altruism. Real altruistic behaviour is not consciously selfish - but emotional. The point of the book - which I am still not finished - is that although the genes are selfish and life is about the survival of the fittest, nevertheless co-operation and collaboration (types of altruistic behaviour) prove to be the best survival policies.
Computer simulations of prisoner's dilemma showed that overall the cooperative policy is most successful - according to the book. -KO Moq_Discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
