"A culture that supports the dominance of social values over
biological values is an absolutely superior culture to one that
does not, and a culture that supports the dominance of
intellectual values over social values is absolutely superior to
    one that does not."

First for Ron: "Culture" has no particular meaning in the MOQ-wisely,
we have bacteria culture, plant culture, American culture ... etc. Social
value dominates biological values that's true, and equally true is it that
intellect (is supposed to) dominate society, but intellect's values are
NOT defined by culture.

Over to Platt who I said "had weird notions of social value"

> Some cultures support biological values, like cultures that encourage
> the killing of infidels.

something I may apologize because this is true if culture is used in a
Q-society sense.

> Cultures that support truth and individual rights (intellectual
> values) over collectivism and religion (social values) are morally
> superior:

Agree, but again shows the ambiguity of the "culture" term.

Pirsig:
"But what the larger intellectual structure of the Metaphysics of
Quality makes clear is that this political battle of science to free
itself from domination by social moral codes was in fact a
moral battle! It was the battle of a higher, intellectual level of
evolution to keep itself from being devoured by a lower, social
    level of evolution." (Lila, 24)

Agree, also because it confirms the SOL. See, Pirsig regards science
as intellect's foremost pattern, and science is SOM, thus the S/O
distinction IS intellect's value. This Platt agrees with me about, but I
wish Steve, Arlo and DMB would study it.
