That's the way I see it Matt, Changing the rhetorical language changes the world-view / the mind-set / the paradigm (breaks the mind of logic, as koans do) but language cannot confer definitive meanings on "things".
People who start their philosophical journey's from Pirsig seem to forget he was a primarily a rhetorician - successfully contributing to a paradigm shift.
