[Ham] I view the MoQ as a cult movement, which has produced much "negative reaction" here. It has all the typical attributes: formal indoctrination (required reading of LILA and ZMM), the leader's word recited in answer to every question, alternative beliefs or theories (particularly those of a religious or spiritual nature) disparaged, self-criticism resisted, and a flock of acolytes following.

[Krimel] Papal edits for the King James Bible? This is just too outrageous to let stand. The King James version of the Bible was commissioned by the Church of England. It has never undergone papal editing. Following the Council of Nicaea, Constantine ordered the creation of 50 manuscripts of the newly agreed upon texts. Two copies are thought to survive to the present day. They are codices Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. Guess what? They are written in Latin. The popes of history had everyone reading the bible in Latin until the Second Vatican Council in the early '60s. Don't even get me started on whether Jesus ever claimed to be or would have endorsed the claim that he was "a man-god born of a virgin with the ability to reincarnate himself." For pity sake man, not even Paul talked about something a silly as reincarnation much less "self reincarnation". What is that even supposed to mean? Would that be like Duncan McCloud or maybe Wolverine or Claire Bennett? Ra's al Ghul perhaps? Or is that what Bobby Ewing was doing in the shower at the end of Season 9 of Dallas?
