>From where comes the assumption that everyone craves community?

I think RMP turned the question around in Lila when he called New York a giant,
a gigantic social pattern.

How come that anyone can assume that community craves his company?

How can our insulated and unique conscious minds that sees it's capacity and
experiences close at hand, while others at a distance. How can we be interested
in getting closer? Is writing and reading with mutual respect in an internet
discussion forum without any pictures at all the best way?

Not many are interested of an extra copy of todays newspaper or MOQ-mail
because we like to have everyolne unique Dynamic Quality.

We don't have so much use for an extra phone number or Post box address either.
Nor an extra green card or tax paying system in our Static Quality.

One is enough, one is sufficient for the most of us.

But when we are talking energy and force, time and money, then we can take as
many as possible of them. Dollars and free days, guns and roses.

There is a third side of it: The Quantitive Quality, the amount and the number
of it. Too much or too less is bad. Enough is good.

A community or just a relation of a few, finds it's strength in the citizens
similarity. General agreements about time and language will gain the social
standard.

But just because of everyone is unique, Value is unique to anyone, there is
always someone else that can do it better and worth paying for.

That is why communities do better because we can get more done by expertise and
fair business. Things that should take years to do if everyone worked for
himself, being an expert in every discipline and with very long arms. These
things are done in months instead. The big advantage with a businessminded and
cooperating community is the time it saves for us. Saved time or compressed
future if you like. The values that money is representing is saved time.

Too much saved time in the society is bad, leads to depreciation, so someone
has to use it up. e g when someone jumps into bed with his beloved at worktime.

That's Quality living. The trick is to keep the balance between energy, pattern
and freedom. Quantitive, Static and Dynamic Quality.
