When you say "your" here Ian, do you mean the celebrity's judgement? Or everybody else's judgemtent who ascribes Good to the social more than the intellectual?
Or perhaps both because it's as impossible to remain disaffected by mass social approval as it is mass social disapproval. And what'd really be disconcerting is having to handle both in one lifetime.
