The original order was supposed to tell them to cover their chests. i guess they were walking around Hawaiian style bear chested, and the Koran asked for a little modesty. then the head scarf came, and then it turned into something like a nun's habit. Last summer in Beirut it was interesting to see girls with scarves on, yet they were in tight jeans. So a whole new enterprise of 'veiled fashion' is emerging. Here is my argument. If the whole idea is to be modest, and you are a Muslim girls living in the west, would's a less conspicuous dress attract less attention. You want people to stare at you while at the beach, wear a suite and tie, and I guarantee that they will be staring for miles around. Go dresses in proper beach attire, and you will get the occasional glance. Then of course the attire becomes a political statement. Like the gangs in L.A. One wears a blue bandana the other a red one. Scarf color, shape, how it's tucked in, all that becomes part of identity and social status. Unfortunately, they can't see past their noses and they think that's what religion is all about. Years ago, they had a Saudi go up on the space shuttle, and rumors had it that he went inquiring from his imam on how to properly face Mecca to do his prayers while in space. Doesn't he see that now he is closer to GOD ( if that is what he believes) and his prayers would be accepted anyway. That to me is an indication of lack of faith. The more ceremonies you have to do, the less your faith is. ____________________________________________________________ Weight Loss Program Best Weight Loss Program - Click Here! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/c?cp=ui1L7QzqRogTxByJetnbOwAAJ1BoN5MIA846iJgpKACKCvEMAAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEUgAAAAA= Moq_Discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
