Hi Carrie and welcome,

Certainly questions are open for discussion.  You may receive conflicting
views, but it is all in the aid of learning.  At some point you may click with
one or more contributors which can result in a fruitful string of emails.

I read ZAMM back in the '70s and then thought a lot about it, integrated it
with other stuff.  Then I read Lila which was a little more difficult for
me since it did not necessarily agree with my extrapolations.  So
I am here also to broaden my view.  There can be a whole
bunch of posts per day, so you can always just read the ones which
pertain to your subject.

Often I will digress into seeming nonsense and opinions, and often
the posts will become less about Pirsig and more about current
affairs, which can also be interesting once you get to know the
characters involved.

My purpose is personal development through a reality that
I found many years ago through reading Pirsig.

I am also a resident of CA, although in the decadent South.

Ask all the questions you want.

Cheers,

Mark

Hello all,

My name is Carrie, as a stay-at-home mom/wife in Davis California, I find
myself with little social outlet and an urge to some intelligent
conversation once in a while. I'm a big fan of Robert Pirsig, since reading
his Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance in High School and finishing
Lila last year.

I have a question about this list which is do you guys see yourself as
having any purpose in the long run? Like promoting Pirsig's views in
society? Or is it mainly centered around socializing and conversation? Or
is it more answering questions?

I hope answering questions is good because I have quite a few!

Thanks,

Carrie
