So Jon, avoiding the nits and picking the point ... I do take one exception to your view ...
The "in our time" turning point aspect is illusory. Even at a basic level, "now" is 25 / 35 years after Pirsig wrote, and anyway Pirsig has been right for thousands of years. We have been at this crisis point ever since SOMism took a hold. It's just the size of the world shrinks as the pace of communication and penetration of technology increases - so the crisis continues to worsen exponentially. But it's the same crisis. Northrop in fact pointed this out to Pirsig, but "nothing new under the sun" has been a theme of mine. http://www.psybertron.org/?p=294 http://www.psybertron.org/?p=299 http://www.psybertron.org/?p=543 Regards Ian On Tue, Apr 13, 2010 at 6:03 AM, Jon Bennett <[email protected]> wrote: > Thanks guys for picking my nits and tickling my funny bone.
