[Ron] A huge point in all this, is that once you take away the interpretive argument of what Pirsig says, and allow SOL to stand on it's own merit, it quickly dissolves into thin air.
[Arlo] Of course, and why do you think the interpretive "argument" is what they cling to so desperately? Its the only validity they can hope for. And its why they revise Pirsig, ignore what he himself says, and crop and choose quotes to support an "interpretation" that Pirsig has outright said he does not agree with. Pirsig's MOQ: the intellectual level is NOT SOM. Bo's MOQ: the intellectual level IS SOM. Two. Different. Things. Have all the arguments you'd like about which is better (I think Pirsig's MOQ is better, personally), but do not try to claim Bo's MOQ is what Pirsig meant, if only he were smart enough to understand his own meaning.
