Andre: Indeed Krimel, they have slightly evolved from the grilling, burning, breaking and hanging practices. Krimel: The question of human sacrifice is interesting because while Jesus' death was a political act not a "sacrifice;" the idea that God demanded Jesus' death as a human sacrifice is certainly part of Christianity. Andre: That is the way I understood it as well. Used by the church authorities (at least up until my childhood days) to instill even greater feelings of guilt, submission and awe:'God sacrificed Jesus FOR YOU you know?'!!(and that to a 5-year old child!!)
