Adrie, I fear you are missing the point. Yes, this is a deterministic system and yes in principle calculation could yield precision. But to achieve exact prediction the calculation would take longer that just waiting to see what happens.
Douglas Adams gets at this a bit in an episode of Dr. Who, which he co-wrote under a pen name. The episode, Logopolis, was Tom Baker's last, the death of my favorite Doctor :< Logopolis is a planet of mathematicians who sustain the fabric of the universe through their calculations. The Doctor goes there hoping to fix the chameleon circuit in his Tardis. He has discovered a small variation between the measurements of a "real" police call box and the Tardis. It turns out that the fractional round error, when plugged into the block transformations of the universe will result in serious problems. It is all a plot by the Master, who has been killing off mathematicians. If all of the mathematicians are silenced, Entropy will have its way. There will be chaos without order. Logopolis will turn to dust and with it, all that is. It is all about Eris and her sister. In the Mythos of Dr. Who: Discordia is played by The Master. Harmonia is played by The Doctor. In Adams' tale the Doctor dies and is reborn in his wimpier Peter Davison incarnation... But that's another story, actually a round of stories, that Adams edits but does not pen.
