..., i'm still in short of timen to read further on in William James his work,
but i did perform some reading on the principles of philosophy, to investigate
the rolling in of the pluralistic tought, caught my attention that James is
framing religion as a qualityeffort in the same sentence, in the work, But
given the timeframe, and how America is on religion, i will filter it out. I
will read over it.

dmb says:
Yes, he's too soft on theism. He differs from Pirsig on that score, although a
careful reading of James gets rid of most of the worry. If fact, Pirsig had
originally dismissed James as a theist is disguise but when he took a second
look that turned out to be untrue.
Don't worry about trying to fit him in. I have to get serious about school
anyway and I'll be spending a lot less time here.

If you like to abstract things on my posting to Dan, or clarify, or take out
distortions if you see them, feel free to do so, i like free lessons,
especially if they are high level. They always are.

dmb says:
If I were you, I'd trust Dan. He cares about the MOQ, he never produces
nonsense and he grinds no axes.

P.S. Thanks for telling me about the connection between Ken Evenson's work with
lasers and holography. I didn't realize that but it certainly makes sense. They
were like toys to him. He took me up to the lab so show me just a few weeks
after we met. His wife, my mother in law, is upstairs right now. She was just
telling me this morning that she cleaned out his old workshop the other day and
found a whole box full of awards. I can't wait to see that.
