I suppose the ignorant candidate ought to wear their informed derision as a badge of honor? It'll show the Tea Baggers how she can stand up to those elitists with their fancy book-learnin', right?

Well this is just part and parcel of the growing trend of anti-intellectualism among the right. Being "smart", as Bill O'Reily used to comment, made one only an "intellectual pinhead". These people CHAMPION ignorance. O'Donnell will be CHEERED by these people for the very FACT that she is ignorant of constitutional law. What worries me is that one the other hand these are the very people who act like they have been ordained BY GOD to protect the constitution from the hordes of acerdimics, interlictials, commie, socialist, enemies of liberty, traitorous haters of America. It has taken on the language of a "religious" war, where the most ardent and fervorous warrior for the religion do not even understand the "god" they are fighting for, and this is a badge on HONOR for them.

This is why Platt can call you a "bigot" because you are intolerant of intolerance. Remember these same people were APPALLED that a "mosque" was being built near "ground zero". We can't do THAT, we have to be SENSITIVE to the people who blame Islam for 9/11. But teach creationism in schools? Force YOUR religion onto kids? Sure! Bring it on! They demand "freedom" to burn the Koran, but champion laws that deny Muslim women the freedom to wear veils. They want the Bible pushed in school, but classes that teach acceptance of homosexuals is an INVASION into their rights as parents to raise their children as they see fit!

I am afraid we have many dark days ahead of us, my friend.
