Sadness is part of life too.  I'm grateful for it all - "it's joys and
fears".   The experience of seeing my wife, 7 1/2 months pregnant, in the
midst of a Madonna-mad, Mexican men's prison was worth it somehow.  The
expression in their eyes...

Coming back to the states, on Christmas eve, to my brother-in-law's house
where we went to the obligatory Xmas eve churchy spectacular was also
eye-opening.  There he and his bitchy first wife complained vociferously
over how the fuckin' spics were taking over their world and the
juxtaposition of attitudes, combined with that good ole American Xmas
holiday spirit... well, lets just say it was an education that I haven't
forgotten yet.

The Eagle and the Condor have not yet had the last word.  Remember the
Alamo!

And tremble.
