Hello Dan, If I may, the "love of money" is classic MoQ. Money is mistaken for what it represents, in the same way words are mistaken for what they represent. Money represents security, pleasure, power, etc. The problem arises when one replaces money as the object rather than realizing it is just a representation. So, the love of money is misguided and is similar to falling in love with the static world, rather than seeing the dynamic one.
I suppose such a thing could be called evil as well. In religion this is known as worshiping a false idol. And, it is considered evil. This is why Jesus trashed the synagogue. This is why it is forbidden to worship false idols in Islam as well. They are not God, they are not dynamic. This is why worshipping money results from not seeing the world through MoQ basics, and by such standards is evil. Textbook MoQ. Perhaps it will change in our lifetimes. One can only hope, we just got to keep trying.
