Marsha,
Wittgensteins "'Tractatus Logico-Philosphophicus'"  functioned on a
correspondance
theory of propositions representing facts or "truths". A sort of mathematical
approach
reducing language to truth propositions.

The ultimate goal is to accurately convey meaning, once the message is recieved
we no longer need to trouble over the proposition.

"My propositions are elucidatory in this way: he who understands me finally
recognizes them as senseless, when he has climbed out through them, on them,
over them. (He must so to speak throw away the ladder, after he has climbed up
on it.)"
