Marsha V -

Like a joke, it loses upon explanation. But for you ...

So in the novel "Lila," there's a girl named Lila.

There's also the reason she was called Lila - the Hindu Lila, the "play" or "sporting about" of Brahman by which this world arises.

In one thread of Hindu philosophic practice, one thread is to penetrate Lila - to break through the play or sporting about and realize that the world is a game.

Which is an exciting pursuit, but - and this is a big part of the point of the practice - it may lead to a certain pacification once attained.

So it was with the novel-Lila.

Penetration - get it?

Joy - and danger.
