Hi MRB,
Get in to the Grove? Well it certainly was not through some
accomplishment or effort on my part. I try to fly as low beneath the
radar as I can. So, connections. My Grandfather, my uncle, my dad,
and now my brother. I have been going as a guest since 1992.
Certainly I cannot afford it! I go for the intelligent talk, the
great music (many famous, Steve Miller is a member of a camp two camps
down) it is all impromptu. A few years ago I listened to the greatest
harmonica player alive, pretty amazing, and there is great food, and
every day at noon there are talks about new things in science (my
favorite). This time, some guy was giving us an update on how much
man has contributed to the carbon dioxide level, blah, blah, blah.
After the talk I asked that if he was into prophesies, what did he
think about the apocalypse predicted by the Mayans. Well, he was
taken aback, professor and all. Of course I got a good response from
the audience, all die-hard Capitalists. There is also the beautiful
redwoods and the 7 AM hikes though the hills, and there is of course
the Politics. It is fun to debate these crusty old Republicans. I
saw Kissinger walking to dinner with some kind of entourage...

You got to realize that many of these members are type A personalities
who live in an isolated world of power at the top and they like to let
their hair down. So, they take very serious all this burning of care.
There is also not supposed to be any spider weaving going on. Like
hell, there is all sort of stuff going on, GHW Bush was selected
during one of those encampments. I also walked through the house on
the cliff above the Russian River where the Trilateral Commission was
formed. So there is lots of that nonsense too. Me? I just go to have
fun at an all men's club.
