DMB says:
According to Hare, many psychopaths are superficially charming, and can
excellently mimic normal human emotion;some psychopaths can blend in,
undetected, in a variety of surroundings, including corporate
environments."
Oh, without doubt. Business offers a place to *channel* a lot of our
evolutionary stuff. Just like athletics, popular music, BDSM and D/s - and
politics. Especially politics!
Anyone here ever hear of The Michael Teachings? (No relation.) Very
interesting New Age system - full of classifications along lots of
interesting axes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Michael_Teachings . They
follow a Gurdjieff system of soul ages: Infant (think Australian
aborigines - very close to the Tao, with their dreaming), Baby (think
Spanish Inquisition, honor societies like Iran's Revolutionary Guard, Walter
Sobchak in film), Young (Ayn Rand, Gordon Gekko in film, Alexander the
Great), Mature (Obama, Tori Amos, Jane Austen, Al Gore), Old (J.S. Bach,
Sting, The Dude in film - very close to the Tao again). One of their
interesting points is that, unlike almost all New Age systems (which are of
course liberalish tending when they talk about politics) they recognize the
achievements of Young Soul civilization - Roman aqueducts and roads, our
electrical transmission systems, vaccines, etc. - without ignoring the
contributions of all the other soul levels. In this system, so soul age or
role or anything else is better than any other. An Infant Soul Warrior in
Dominance is completely equal to an Old Soul King in Submission.
It's fun looking at things from a Michael point of view. According to them,
I'm a "6th Level Old-soul Priest in Passion with Goal of Growth and Chief
Feature (i.e., issue to work on) of Stubbornness." - much more at
http://www.michaelteachings.com
There was quite the discomfort when a Michael-channel (who's a political
liberal) said that Palin is older soul'd than Obama. ; )
