The Buddha said: "Just as the wise accept gold after testing it by heating,
cutting and rubbing it, so are my words to be accepted after examining them,
but not out of respect for me."

The Dali Lama said: "A general stance of Buddhism is that it is inappropriate
to hold a view that is logically inconsistent. This is taboo. But even more
taboo than holding a view that is logically inconsistent is holding a view that
goes against direct experience."

These quotes come from a video of Alan Wallace giving a lecture at Oxford
during a 2-day colloquium on the compatibilities between Buddhism and Science.
There are some technical glitches but the talk itself is well worth hearing
anyway. Maybe the lecture would prompt some interesting conversations about the
MOQ and it's relation to "the hard problem" of consciousness, among other
things. Take a gander, MOQers. Takes about 40 minutes if you skip the Q&A at
the end, which is audio only and not terribly interesting.

You'll notice that a whole series of lectures were recorded at that event.
Enjoy.
