[Ron]
It made me reflect on what we mean by static and dynamic and how they best
function as a description in relation to cultural patterns, the west may be a
more dynamic culture as it accepts change faster but the east cultures the
personal experience with dynamic quality and it does this with static ritual in
the aim of betterness.

I think this is a good observation, Ron. On the edge here, we see that terms
like 'static' and 'dynamic' convey certain cultural assumptions, which is one
reason I've thought the move towards "stable" is a good start, but ultimately
simply "patterns" is sufficient. But I think you're also seeing the way some
try to use these terms to wrongly try to categorize and rank people. Make no
mistake, the "East" is neither "Dynamic" nor "static", and the neither is the
"West" "Dynamic" or "static". This is such a gross misuse of those terms its
saddening to even see this mistake made. What this does is confuse the word
"static" with "SOM". Sadly, it seems like no amount of correcting helps.
