hi, clark: as i mentioned before your explanation made a lot of sense to me especially after reading jung's assertion of the collective unconscious being affected by our personal consciousness. you never answered my question regarding if you viewed these two as the same thing as i do. in any case, i do have some things i would like to comment on from your latest two emails. you say: <Before human sentience came into being in the universe the operation of Quality was invariably good and was the guiding force for universal evolution. I view inorganic Quality as still operating in the inorganic universe today-still all good. I view sentient Quality as an offshoot of inorganic Quality that resulted from the normal progress of evolution. lithien: i wonder if Quality can be divided as you have done. is this a split of Dynamic Quality? or are you saying that each static level produces its own version of quality affected by the kind of level it arises from? could you further elaborate on this and clarify these points. you also add: <also appeared in Static Quality so that it became possible for our interpretation of Value (and Quality, and the good) to be at variance with the operation of inorganic Quality. lithien's question: isnt inorganic quality the same thing as static quality? im a little confused here by the new terms you are using. please clarify. furthermore, you say: < In accordance with Pirsig's conception of the "individual Truths" idea then each human had the capability of pursueing individual paths depending on their personal history and immediate influences. lithien: would immediate influences encompass temperament? if so, are we influenced by our genetic inheritance and are not as free as we think in pursuing these individual truths? clark finally says: < If my view of the "Many Truths" idea is correct then I can see where these two aspects of morality will eventually become much closer in the future. Maybe even identical. lithien: in a way, are we being guided?
