Interesting points were made on this topic in The Meme Machine. Blackmore
commented how a successful survival characteristic of a meme (social or
intellectual pattern) is to get biological entities to equate the meme with
themselves. This way, you can get people to oppose contradictory memes. I
think she makes a Good case that this type of thought pattern will be
evolutionarily more successful for a meme. Interesting huh?
