Jonathan, in "MD:Reality & Observation" today, replies to Bo that subject/object logic/metaphysics is in fact an aspect of the MOQ, only integrated into a larger and better system - one recognizing the "distinct" nature of Quality as an experience prior to any partition of such ever-fluxing Dynamic Oneness. Not only this, but a very salient point is that in the MOQ, the relation between mind and matter is finally cleared up, via the recognition of the independent reality of the biological and social levels, and as being the evolutionary forerunners of intellect, and the product of Dynamic work on static forces of matter (gravity, entropy...) What I see as the "Western cultural metaphysical assumption" which causes the largest "static filter" against (dynamic, romantic) Quality is not a metaphysic which looks at the world as consisting of subjects and objects, because these remain as each divided once more and are shown to have a common valuable essence in P's philosophy, but a substance-based metaphysics. There is the idea that reality is fundamentally of one substance. This is good. The MOQ calls this sub-stance "Quality", or "Dynamic Quality". Western man since the Greeks has tended to call it "Matter", thereby creating one really large mother of a Platypus. Some Western men have, and do, identify the primary substance of the world as "Mind", or "Idea", or "Thought"... this too causes the platypi to hit the fan. Kick a stone, my friend. It is the value which comes first. Rather, it is only value which ever greets your foot. Your foot is value. Matter and Mind are both of one substance, separated by space and time and Biology and Society. In any Quality Event intellect comes LAST, after soc, bio and ino. -what do you think about that statement Rog? gotta run.
