Xcto, Roger, David B. and Group:

Xcto, this is to acknowledge your response to the Pirsig quote.
Like your previous post, I'll have to ponder what you say about
quality being morality "but not a moral pattern." When Pirsig says
the "world is primarily a moral order," the word "order" suggests
"pattern" to me. But please allow me some time to respond more
thoughtfully. You've given me much to think about for which I'm
grateful.

Roger, likewise.

I stumbled when you quoted a statement by Pirsig where he used
the "categories" of "pragmatism" and "instrumentalism"--a
statement about which you said, "I concur ...completely" after
beating up on me and others for the sin of "categorizing." Still,
while I may have contributed to the deterioration of this site (for
which I apologize), I'm sincerely glad you've rejoined the
discussion. Believe it or not, I've always looked forward to your
posts.

David B., I wrote "agree" next to most every paragraph in your 30
Nov. post. But like the others above, I want to think about it some
more. (I'm trying to think of line where I can use Ba Dump Bump
but come up empty. Maybe next time.) (-:
