Thanks for the story. I relate to the passion you have for baseball, but it 
still does nothing to change my view that a disturbing number of humans have 
some very messed up priorities. I still find it appalling that people are out 
asking for donations for baseball (little league or high school) when 
millions of human beings are dying of diseases which need research money. 
    I am not knocking baseball. I personally prefer football, but that's 
missing the point. When you said that one needs to share your "love of the 
game" in order to truly understand the passion, you are correct. The same 
goes for people who have a passion for art, hunting, fishing, or whatever; 
you have to experience it in order to truly understand. It could even be 
argued that baseball has saved lives. But finding a cure for cancer would 
save, I think it's safe to say, considerably more.
    The billions of dollars we spend capriciously on our personal 
entertainment is, IMO, sickening.
