OK, so I took the whole "X" thing to be a bit of a joke. On the other hand...
Would such a substitution serve to discourage semantic confusion in this
forum? God, I long for a calculus of statement to evolve from the MoQ....
either that, or we could start debating using math. (Hey, at least there
would be less confusion... except when someone missed a parenthesis....)
In all seriousness, though, X usually denotes a variable, like Y and Z. Some
other letter...? A, B and C usually serve as constants; no way am I going to
call Quality a constant.
How about the square root of negative pi? THERE ya go! Imaginary AND
irrational... a much more fitting symbol!
