Quality versus X - not equivalent in my eyes.  While if we use "X" we
could insert ANYTHING into its place, I don't think the "primal nature
of the universe" can be anything.  While we can't define it, the word
quality at least gives us an approximation - something to relate it
to.  Plus, if everything exists because it is better than what came
before, it seems the word we use would have to be something like
quality of value.  Doesn't define it, but gets us in the ballpark.

Speaking of definitions.....it would be interesting to me and
possibly helpful to this discussion if we looked at the differences
between "definition," "distinction," and "description."  They're not
the same.  And while I agree that quality can not be defined, can it
be distinguished or described?
