I'm about six chapters in and your intuition seems right. What keeps
amazing me about Pirsig is that in broad general terms "Phadreus" must
have had a great deal of this worked out in the 60's and 70's long
before the now frequent corollaries that keep popping up in fields as
diverse as evolutionary theory, architecture, and quantum mechanics.
