I'm sure you are aware of Rule 8 for this forum as it is on the website and was posted
to
moq_discuss just a few weeks ago:

Rule 8:
Members should refrain from swearing, using offensive language and personal attacks on
other members. Abuse, in any form, will not be tolerated.

Considering the tone of the posts to which you were replying, what you have written is

inappropriate, unreasonable and offensive. The replies to PzEph and 3rdWaveDave, shown
below, are boorish, arrogant and unnecessary. You are a professional philosopher and a
teacher and you are quite capable of replying to any email on this forum in a calm,
reasoned
and tolerant manner - you have done so in the past and I hope you will do so in the
future.
The majority of members on this forum show respect for each other and as a
professional
philosopher and a teacher perhaps you should set the standard for how discussions are
conducted. I really am deeply disappointed and saddened at the level to which some of
your
recent offerings have descended. If you feel that there are those on this forum who
are so
wrong then educate rather than abuse. Stupidity and ignorance (if this is what you
feel is
being expressed) do not deserve rancour and bile but understanding and education as
per
your profession.

To others members of this forum:
When replying to or initiating a discussion please do not adopt an aggressive and
confrontational stance - whoever your comments are aimed at. Excellence is not
achieved
through aggression. Pirsigs work is about Quality not violence.

As we start a new year, a new century and a new millenium, let's start afresh and show
AT
ALL TIMES the same respect for others that we would expect to receive ourselves.
Whether
we accept each others beliefs or not we can at least be civilised and start talking
rather than
fighting.
