Hi All:
I'm always amused when outsiders who are probably totally unfamiliar
with the MOQ say what the MOQ says as if they had a brand new
thought. Another case popped up today, an article by Salman Rushdie
in the Guardian Saturday Review. Here's the key sentence:
"'Famous' and 'rich' are now the two most important concepts in western
society, and ethical questions are simply obliterated by the potency of
their appeal."
Compare to Lila, Chap. 20:
"Money and celebrity are fame and fortune, traditionally paired as twin
forces in the Dynamic generation of social value. Both fame and fortune
are huge Dynamic parameters that give society its shape and meaning."
It's always nice to see others catching up to Pirsig. Obviously, Mr.
Rushdie's intellectual patterns are not happy with dynamic social
forces. Too bad. They've been around for since societies began.
