[Arlo previously] Pagan views of the feminine typically revolve around three centers or archetypes; mother, maiden, whore, crone.
[Marsha] That's maiden, mother & crone. Don't know where the 'whore' came from. And, by the way, I am a young crone. [Arlo] A number of sources of I have cite "whore" in this list of archetypes. Of course, "whore" simply means "sexually alive" while "maiden" denotes vestigal innocence. Remember that as Christianity cleansed the world of paganism, "whore" was applied to any woman who engages in sex to someone who is not her husband. Can you think of a male-similar word? Other than "stud"? Paganism did not think of "sex" as evil, vile or dirty. Remember the Dionysians. Sex was Holy. It was the Christians who came along and said "you bad, bad dirty little whore".... moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
