Kevin, Clearly the MoQ "supports" a S/O view of the world, a dualist view, but the whole point is that as a metaphysics it is based on a view that says Quality preceeds all subjects and objects. So it is itself a Monism.
When you say "interaction is everything" any MoQist would agree with you. Quality is that "interaction" - the interaction from which things like subjects and objects arise, for our pragmatic convenience and language. BTW the "brain in a vat" thought experiments preceed Penrose I think. There is a good one by Dennett in Minds-I in which more and more of the sensory and motor systems are replaced by robotic systems in unusual locations - the question of "where am I" becomes interesting ;-) Ian moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
