Horse,

I do not really take Ian's call to ditch Platt any more seriously than I
take Platt's claim to be the voice of sanity. Still I find the suggestion
that he be removed disturbing. In my view Platt's contributions to this
discussion forum are absolutely second to none.

In the two years I have been posting I would estimate that Platt has
participated in and generated more discussion than any other contributor. He
has stimulated my thinking as much as anyone else in these parts and he has
inspired much of what I consider to be my best efforts.

Like many others I almost never agree with, Platt. Sometimes I think he must
be making things up just to annoy me but he is always a worthy advocate for
his views. I find his positions almost always deeply misguided but I respect
him and his ability to articulate them beyond measure.

We all get a bit overzealous at times and speak rashly and I assume that is
what Ian is doing now. But MoQ.org would be greatly diminished without
Platt.

In just a few minutes I plan to begin yet another savage assault of one or
another of Platt's recent posts. I haven't even read them yet but I can tell
you I will enjoy every second of it and I will wait with baited breath his
response which I predict will infuriate me and prompt another futile attempt
to correct the errors of his thinking.

Ban, Platt?

I say never! In fact I recommend we all give him a big hand for all he has
done to keep us thinking and for not allowing us to take our assumptions for
granted.

Yes, by all means. Censor the voice of sanity.
